Having worked as a chef, caterer, cookery teacher and food writer, Celia Plender is a total foodie. Since returning from Japan, where she worked as a chef in a Tokyo kaiseki restaurant, she has devoted more and more of her time to Japanese cuisine. She is the proud editor of two cookbooks: ‘Dashi and Umami, the Heart of Japanese Cuisine’ and ‘Umami World Recipes Vol. 4, Filipino’. In her food writing career she has also written for various magazines and websites, including the Caterer and Hotelkeeper and www.clearpring.co.uk. She has recently developed an unhealthy obsession for seaweed, which she is writing a cookbook about.
