Store Review: & Other Stories

If you’re a Londoner, you’ve probably heard the buzz around new store & Other Stories by now. The brand is by the same people who brought us H&M and Cos, channeling a more high-end, designer feel, but at reasonable prices. It opened on Regent Street on Friday 8 March, so chances are you will have had more than enough time to go back a second, third or fourth time by now!

The store is laid out according to different collections, encouraging shoppers to mix and match across styles, experiment, and create their own looks. The styles range from feminine and a little bit Parisian with the ‘Poetic and Dandy’ collection, to androgynous tailoring with clean-cut lines in ‘Industrial and Effortless’; something to please a wide range of taste buds.

& Other Stories has collaborated with a number of brands and designers to create certain products and items within the store, including underwear brand The Lake & Stars, which adds an element of luxury to delicate lingerie.

Living up to its ‘one-stop shop’ mentality, accessories are a core feature of the brand and the shoes are rather like pieces of art with architectural structure and bold colours.

The beauty and cosmetics section will also make you sit up and pay attention. Ben Gorham of Swedish perfumery Byredo is the brains behind the fragrances in the bath and body range and Lisa Butler – who has years of experience with Prada and Lanvin – has perfected the cosmetics range to create palates and shades to complete a look.

This store has thought of absolutely everything. Think Acne, The Kooples, Sandro; brands you love, but can’t afford. & Other Stories fits the bill perfectly for effortlessly cool Scandinavian style at prices for which your bank account won’t hate you.
