Claire’s Accessories’ On-Trend Nails

When I hear the name Claire’s Accessories, I normally associate it with an abundance of sparkly earrings, a colourful selection of hair clips and a variety of skull themed accessories. A popular haunt of mine in my early teen years, I was unsure how I would respond to their new collections at age 23…

Arriving at the press day, which was situated in the kitsch surroundings of Soho’s Powder Rooms, I immediately caught glimpses of stunning handbag collections, intricate turquoise jewelry and a pair of cute lace socks I was desperate to make mine. Boy, had I misjudged Claire’s.

On our guided tour of the collection we were offered tea or coffee, which came out in delicate china teacups decorated with blue floral print. I fell in love with the gorgeous choice of handbags, including a rather stunning red suede satchel. A must have if, like me, you never travel light.

I’m a huge fan of turquoise jewellery and like a moth to bejeweled flame; I was drawn to Claire’s selection of cute turquoise pieces. A lover of all things kitsch, I was also impressed by their array of animal inspired pieces, included an owl cuff and reindeer ring.

Every girl loves to be pampered and Claire’s pulled out all the stops. Giving my lackluster locks the wow factor, the Claire’s team popped my hair up into an almighty bun, thanks to my new favourite hair accessory, the doughnut. The result left me rocking a mega Sixties up do.

Then it was time for my nails to be treated to some sprucing. A big trend amongst in the beauty world right now is the cracked nail varnish effect. Barry M brought out their own range but reviews have been mixed following claims it’s prone to chipping. I think Claire’s are onto a winner with their version as my nail varnish has remained intact and the cracked look has avoided becoming a cracked mess.

Suffice to say, my day was thankfully devoid of sparkle and skull print and no sooner had I left the Powder Rooms with my chic hairstyle and on trend nails, did I head to my nearest Claire’s to purchase my new wardrobe must haves.

I am 28 and still love Claire’s. In fact it was my very first job when I was in high school. Claire’s. has been around for a long time now and happy that they are still around. They always have the latest fashion trend and staffs are always friendly. It’s also a great store to buy cheap gifts.
