themuse.tv Launch Party
When you think about it, there isn’t much of a bridge between fashion retail websites and online magazines. In fact, it would be fair to say that there is something of a gaping hole. So, enter themuse.tv, a new online fashion community for young women. It went live on February 28 at a rather fabulous launch party.
The site had achieved success before it even launched, receiving 200,000 views for the pilot alone. The brains behind the venture is Simon Glazin, founder of Theverysimong.com and the 2011 Cosmopolitan Male Blogger of the Year.
The site will offer weekly fashion videos, lots of lovely features, style tips, competitions and live event coverage presented by one of the site’s gorgeous presenters who roam the streets of London interrogating innocent passersby on their outfits, attending exciting fashion events and generally using the city as their playground.
Once you join the site you are officially a ‘muse’ with your own profile and a unique Scrap Book app putting you at the centre of the online fashion world where you can interact and share content with other muses as well as collect your favourite fashion finds. Plus support from major fashion brands means plenty of great offers and deals which is never a bad thing.
But what of the party? It was a terribly fashionable affair at the Swarovski Crystallized Lounge on Great Marlborough Street. There was frozen yoghurt, there was blogger extraordinaire and London legend Bip Ling on the decks and there was a sizeable portion of the cast of Made in Chelsea in attendance. What more could a girl wish for?
After a nice intro from Simon Glazin the guests proceeded to enjoy a plethora of delights including a sewing class, DIY T-shirt customisation, some gorgeous designs on display from Saraar Neesen and Zoe Sterling and lots of delicious drinks. Lydia Bright of TOWIE fame attracted a lot of attention, as did the Made in Chelsea lot, not to mention good old Vanessa Feltz. I was more excited to see Antoni Burakowski of Antoni & Alison fame who looked very cool and collected, probably still dazed from opening at London fashion week.
So, big things ahead for themuse.tv it would seem and plenty of style stalking on the streets of London. Perfect.
