Matt Pilling is a writer of Yorkshire descent who has been in London for the past 6 years. A connoisseur of Yorkshire puddings and vanilla ice cream, he was once a musician of some note and as such likes to spend as much time as possible watching concerts whilst munching on the little tubs of vanilla ice cream with the tiny plastic spoons. Main ambition in life is to turn a barn (ideally in France) into a jazz club and spend the rest of time eating cheese and drinking red wine.

Bloomsbury’s Salvador and Amanda
The atmosphere is certainly surreal as from the outside the restaurant looks dark and broody with neon lights above the entrance

The Drift manages to be charming yet slick at the same time; a good, fun bar that will surely become an after-work favourite

The friendly staff buzzed around as we sat in a gentle haze of tequila and tasty food, trying to decide if we wanted pudding
