Alex once pursued a life of hedonistic abandon, stoked by desire and greed. It was all going so well, so lustily. Then the recession hit and he had to set loose his many rodents, lest he turn to them for sustenance. To cope with the loneliness he turned to writing, but so far it has only reinforced his isolation.
