The Cornershop
Out of loo roll? Hobnobs? Tampons? Head down to The Cornershop.
Having spent seven months needling away, creative crafter Lucy Sparrow aka Sew Your Soul, has opened the doors to her fully stocked, fully crafted convenience store, open for business throughout August.
Perched on the end of your standard east London street, The Cornershop blends seamlessly (pun very much intended) into the landscape, reflecting Sparrow’s interest in the demise of the local cornershop in the face of the supermarket saturation we experience in London.
As the world’s first handmade life-size shop, The Cornershop is stocked with over 4,000 items, ranging from cereal boxes and biscuit packets, vegetables to oven chips, sanitary towels to pregnancy tests and KY jelly… All tastes catered for here.
All items are available to buy, ranging from £5-£150, and will be available for collection after the store closes at the end of the month. You can also start stockpiling your own crafter confectionary with one of the sewing workshops to be held this month. Drop in store for more information and to sign up.
Right, I’m off to get felt up down the shops…
The Cornershop is open every day 10am-7pm until Sunday 31 August at:
19 Wellington Row
