Suzannah Boutique Launch

Rather excitingly there’s a new boutique in town. On New Quebec Street to be exact. As fans of Suzannah’s ladylike chic already, the style team popped along to the launch of The Suzannah Boutique to see the physical manifestation of her first shop. Two compact floors of loveliness ensued, with ginger ale cocktails, cakes on sticks and rail upon rail of beautiful frocks.

What’s immediately refreshing about Suzannah’s designs is that she creates them to flatter women, rather than to pinch, suck and squeeze our bodies into submission. Accordingly, the A/W ’13 collection ‘Future Heirlooms’ is a lot of what it says on the elegantly tailored tin. Beautifully crafted, classically styled and intricately detailed dresses and jackets that make you want to peer and touch. And peer and touch we did.

As for the S/S collection, the bright magenta pinks, purples and oranges were positively delectable and the collar detailing had me caressing the heavy embellishments. I’m a sucker for a good collar. A little bolero style jacket and the structured dresses with deep pocket detailing were particularly pleasing.

Lovers of beauty really must go and browse. Suzannah’s dresses are dresses designed to be treasured; and that’s something of a rarity these days.
