London’s Lash Queen

I can’t stop looking in the mirror; I have the most beautiful long, dark and curled eyelashes that have totally transformed my face. They have opened up my eyes and drawn out the shape of my cheekbones, plus the best part is, that I hardly have to wear make-up. A bonus considering I am going on a luxury holiday in just a few weeks.

So where did they come from? Daxita. Daxita works at the Atherton Cox Salon a few steps away from Marylebone High Street. She is not only the most dexterous-fingered eyelash extension expert in the West End but she is also a perfectionist. Rather than pimp my eyes with showgirl eyelashes, she kitted me out with very fine, synthetic lashes that worked with my eye shape, bone structure and skin tone.

The whole process was quick too. There was no laying around for hours like I expected. Instead, she bonded more than 80 lashes onto my existing ones in just 50-minutes and promised me that with the right oil-free cleanser and care, they would last for four to six weeks, giving me just enough time to look great for my holiday and my sisters wedding.

To begin with, the lashes feel weird. I can see a little flicker everytime I blink but they don’t feel any heavier than my normal lashes or look out of place. I’m being extra careful though. On the first night, I sleep rigidly on my back and following Daxita’s instructions don’t touch them or apply any eye-make up, while the next morning I go to the gym before strutting to a family party. At first people notice something different about me and when I give them a few blinks and explain what I have had done they coo over my eyes.

The outcome is that I absolutely love the lashes and want to keep them forever, but can’t justify £150 per set every six weeks. However, they are definitely a must for holidays and injecting a little flamboyance into special occasions. Infact I can think of a better investment…other than a gorgeous little black dress (LBD) of course.
