Hydrohealing in Notting Hill
There are more beauty products and services out there than you can poke a pair of tweezers at. And some of them are, quite frankly, crap.
The main issues being that often the blurb used to describe them is a pile of inaccessible, hyperbolic gobbledigook. How are you supposed to know what they’re actually talking about?
Also, while they might feel nice, no one actually spends an hour each morning in the dark, burning incense and listening to panpipes, while covering themselves in 20 different creams.
So while you might spend £70 (the average price for a facial now) on feeling awesome, it doesn’t last forever and you can’t maintain the effect. So, what’s the point?
Well, in truth, there are only two types of good facials worth having:
1) Products
These are facials from salons/spas who usually make their own products and really know and care what they’re talking about. This facial noticeably helps you with your skincare routine, and provides you with products that make a difference to your skin.
2) Process:
This kind of facial is actually so effective that you leave the salon glowing with health and vitality; and you feel the effects for ages (when you walk into the pub your mates don sunglasses to properly marvel at the shiny fabulousness of your skin).
If you can find a facial that will do either of the above, you are set for life. And, never fear Londoners, because that’s our promise to you: recommendations of products and services that actually make a difference, reviewed in a language that makes sense.
First up for recommendation is the hydrodermabrasion process exclusively at hydrohealing spa in Notting Hill (actually Ladbroke Grove to be specific). The process uses small droplets of water and oxygen, released at high pressure from a small wand to remove dead and aging skin cells. Basically it’s hardcore exfoliation with an intense process that almost takes your breath away, but it doesn’t hurt, and the effect is really quite incredible.
The hour-long process, which costs £80, finishes off with a lovely face mask and an incredible relaxing neck and shoulder massage.
I left feeling relaxed and refreshed and I looked even better. For evidence look no further than this: I haven’t been to the pub without make-up for about five years; and last night – aside from some mascara – my face was completely naked. Everyone expressed how incredible I looked. My skin was tight and glowing, fresh and supple. It still looks incredible today, and I have no doubt the effect will continue.
