Butterfly Twists – What Clever Soles!
Tortured by your Tory Burchs or pinched by your Prada pumps? It sounds like you may need the help of the clever soles at Butterfly Twists.
It appears some good things can come out of the pain of high heels. After losing a bet and attending a party wearing a pair of six-inch stilettos, one of the male founders of Butterfly Twists – they’re not saying which one out of Emmanuel Eribo, Frank Eribo, Mark Quaradeghini and Philippe Homsy – decided to channel their pain into a positive. Clearly, walking a mile in a woman’s shoes wasn’t all it’s cracked up to be! The solution they came up with is a line of portable ballerina pumps and boots that take the pinch out of looking good, and have given our insteps the night off. What gents!
‘A long night of serious discomfort and constant complaining inspired one of our founders and three of his friends to come up with an idea to put an end to high-heel suffering for women,’ UK Sales Manager, Sarah Kent told us.
‘As a result, our target audience is that of the modern woman: driven, confident, adventurous – and preferably wrapped up in a stylish outfit. Restless and thriving on novelty, she constantly juggles career, travelling and socialising, and likes to look good doing it.’
Designed precisely for girls-on-the-go, these shoes are made for walking, thanks to an extra soft memory foam insole and a patented, flexible sole that allows them to fold in half, so they can be packed away too.
‘We’re constantly faced with the dilemma of how to marry function and fashion,’ added Sarah, ‘but our design team put a lot of care and attention into the collections and manage to balance the two effortlessly.
‘We’re very proud of our London base too and the diversity that the city has to offer is reflected in our collections. Based in Notting Hill, we draw inspiration from all areas of London, such as the vintage style of neighbouring Portobello to the chic stomping ground of Knightsbridge. From celebrity to royalty, Cara to Kate, we design for both extremes, too.’
The result is a Classics range (priced from £25 – £45) and Premium range (from £55 – £70) that updates your commute with cut outs, prints and metallics. Don’t worry, if you’re not a Cece (leopard print) or a Samantha (black glitter), the classic Olivia is your office go-to pump.
Sarah concluded: ‘With a very exciting campaign coming up for S/S15, this is just the beginning for Butterfly Twists. We’re currently stocked in some of the biggest UK retailers but we aspire to be a lifestyle brand and cracking open new doors every season. Watch this space.’
Until then, you can ditch the blister plasters and find Butterfly Twists in concessions at Selfridges, Topshop, Office and Harrods.
