Gifting Solved

You know those people selfish enough to have birthdays when you’re just back from summer holidays or trying to get ready to go away? Those pesky August babies who demand gifts just when you have far too much to do already? Well fear not. There are places to go where miraculous presents can be found.

The first of these is London-grown Not Another Bill; a concept based on the fact that no one gets anything good in the post anymore. Or – if you’re me – nothing at all. Sad. Not Another Bill sends out a beautiful gift each month according to your preferences. If you’re particularly generous, it’s a present for a friend that lasts a whole year. Or, if you fancy discovering some inspiring new designers, sign yourself up. Just have a browse on the site and you’ll stumble across beautiful things and interesting brands you never knew existed which proceed to become firm favourites.

Stand-outs for me were giant gem stones on neon threads from Studio Fludd (a new jewellery favourite of mine), beautifully crafted wooden boats by Victor Stuart Graham,  Merchant & Mills sewing kits, amazing stationery from Studio Sarah and countless other curated delights.

Another new discovery is Ellie Ellie founded by London design talent Danielle Ellen Plowman. I’m a fan of any brand that claims to recycle, reuse and re-love (the 3 Rs); especially those that take inspiration from the British seaside. Ellie Ellie is an online treasure trove stuffed with vintage letter tiles, recycled chalkboards, clocks, pendants and beautiful cards to please even the most discerning recipient.

So, now you’re armed to go out and gift to your heart’s content. Good luck.
