Get Ready for London Fashion Week!

Today may be my birthday but it’s going to be a quiet one, for tomorrow is a 6am start, which isn’t fun on a hell of a hangover! Not being a morning person is putting it lightly (work before 10am is a rarity), but this is only one of two Fridays where I won’t be wailing and dreading the hours before daylight, instead bouncing out of bed like an over-excited child on Christmas Day.

So yes, it is that time of year again when fashion journos, buyers, celebrities, PVC phenomena (well, at least one being fashion week regular Pandemonia), bloggers and anyone who has got the balls to try and blag their way in, will descend on Somerset House for six days at the sartorial sanctuary for what is London Fashion Week.

Tailoring ironed, MAC lippie primed and sky-scrapers at the ready, The London Word is ready to serve you in providing your complete insight into the best of the spring/summer 2012 shows.

For five days of womenswear – and then a rather short-changed menswear Wednesday – the world’s fashion-conscious will descend on London to see what we have to offer with our pioneering fashion design… or simply to clutch a tiny fragment of limelight for themselves with their perfectly manicured talons.

So who’s going to be in the front row? Last season we spied the likes of Janice Dickinson at Paul Costelloe and Janet Jackson at Todd Lynn along with front row usual suspects such as Anna Wintour, Alexa Chung and Daisy Lowe.

Here at The London Word we will be reporting from the catwalks to give you all of the up-to-the-minute coverage of what’s going to be at the forefront of style next season from one of the most important dates in the fashion calendar. Not only that, but we’re happy to indulge in a bit of celebrity gossip and designer interviews purely for your reading pleasure, of course.

So for your ultimate fashion fix, watch this space…

London Fashion Week spring/summer 2012 takes place September 16 to 22.
