The intimate 300 capacity room will play host to a selection of the finest bands and emerging talent from the two musical hotspots on opposite sides of the Atlantic: London and New York.
Curated by Skully from north-London’s multi-platinum band Razorlight, the line-up is a must-see for indie aficionados. Engendered from The Riff Raff track of the same name, ‘NYC Loves LDN’ has been adopted by Skully due to his broad knowledge of both the New York and London scenes.
Born and bred in Brooklyn, Skully has been involved in established NYC acts such as Men, Women and Children and The Reunion Show. Now as a seasoned Londoner, he is abreast with the indie-talents currently plying their trade on the circuit. As such, he is perfectly placed to cherry-pick the finest bands for your aural consumption.
The confirmed line-up for the night is to include none other than Razorlight’s Johnny Borrell performing exclusive new material from the band’s forthcoming album. London-based The Riff Raff, who are fresh back from causing a media storm at this year’s CMJ Music Marathon, will also appear alongside New York’s Penguin Prison who have just been signed to prestigious label Wall of Sound, along with support from current industry buzz band Ice Black Birds, who have confirmed shows at the NME Weekender and SXSW in 2011.
Thursday night’s gig will continue into the early hours with DJ sets from James Theaker, Tim Fanucci (Lost & Found), Ollie Russian (My Band’s Better Than Your Band) and female indie duo She Bangs The Drums.
NYC Loves LDN takes place this Thursday 2 December, 8pm until late at:
32-37 Cowper Street
Entry is £10 in advance.
