Winter Footwear Fetish

Jaime Winstone’s been seen in a pair. Alexa Chung loves them. And Amy Winehouse is such a fan that for a while after the launch of the label she was rarely seen without her classic black pair of ‘Amy’ pumps dedicated to her.

Jonathan Kelsey has quickly become the designer shoe to be seen in. Despite only just going into his third year with his own label he has already won over a large fashionista following with his signature sexy designs.

Training in London and graduating at Central St Martin’s in 1996, Kelsey then went on to spend five years at Jimmy Choo before embracing freelance collaborations that read like a who’s who of the frontrunners of fashion, including Cacherel and Gina as well as catwalk collaborations with Luella and Giles Deacon.

Whilst he still designs collections for Mulberry and Emilio Pucci, Kelsey reflects the sleek and sassy style that is synonymous explicitly within his own label, launched in the winter of 2007.

This season’s collection is all things rock. Inspired by vintage garments from this genre at its height of the 1970s and ’80s, boots are big and existing designs are given a punk revamp with exposed zips, studded chains and even the occasional black lamé fringe.

If you want to be in this season’s hottest footwear get yourself down to Selfridges to pamper your pieds. No true shoe lover’s collection is complete without them.
